Aegean Airlines says profits up 13 pct in 2018

Aegean Airlines on Thursday reported a 5.0 pct increase in its consolidated turnover to 1.187 billion euros in 2018 and said after tax earnings totaled 67.9 million euros, up 13 pct from 2017.

In an announcement, the Greek airline company said: “improved exploitation of network contributed to an increase in passenger traffic by 6.0 pct totaling 14 million passengers. International network traffic rose 7.0 pct compared with 2017 to 7.8 million passengers while domestic traffic rose 4.0 pct to 6.1 million passengers. Aircraft capacity reached 83.9 pct, while the number of flights grew 1.0pct in the year”.

Net operating flows totaled 86.4 million euros, cash reserves amounted to 290.2 million euros after advance payment of 47.9 million euros on an order of 30 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
