High turnout on e-platform protecting homes from foreclosure

Some 17,605 Greek citizens visited the online platform for the protection of primary residences in the first five days of operation, the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management announced.

The platform was launched on July 1, aimed at citizens who have mortgaged their primary residence, or taken out a consumer and business loan on it, and defaulted on loans.

The system allows borrowers to regulate these specific types of loans, with installment plans and subsidization, as legislated recently by the government.

From the 17,605 users, some 6,813 have already stated filling out the relevant electronic forms, according to the Secretariat.
