Hike in basic wage and collective bargaining brought new jobs, SYRIZA’s Achtsioglou says

The increase in the basic wage and the restoration of collective labour agreements was accompanied by new jobs, main opposition SYRIZA spokesperson and state deputy Effie Achtsioglou said in a tweet on Thursday, commenting on the April Labour Force Survey issued by the independent statistical authority ELSTAT.

“In April 2019, unemployment fell to 17.6 pct, falling by approximately 8.5 points under SYRIZA to the lowest level since 2011. The increase of the minimum wage and the restoration of collective labour agreements was accompanied by new jobs. We continue at the side of workers, from every post,” the former labour minister’s tweet said.
