KKE leader: It is negative that the people turned to the old anti-popular choices

Communist Party of Greece (KKE) General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Sunday thanked all the people that voted for his party and especially those that did so for the first time.

Koutsoumbas said that the elections had registered the people’s justified dissatisfaction with the SYRIZA government, which in recent years “has implemented antipopular policies and continued the work of the previous governments of New Democracy (ND) and PASOK.” At the same time, he added, it was negative that the people had turned to the old antipopular choices, such as ND”.

A positive aspect of these elections was that Golden Dawn (Chryssi Avghi) appeared to have lost significantly in terms of electoral strength and votes and would remain outside the Greek parliament, said KKE’s leader.
