National Insurance says premium production is up 2.3 pct in 2018

National Insurance on Tuesday reported a 2.3 pct increase in premium production in 2018 compared with the previous year.

In an announcement, National Insurance said that premium production in the life insurance sector grew 1.3 pct to 431.9 million euros in 2018, from 426.5 million euros in 2017, while premium production in the general insurance sector totaled 168.9 million euros, up 5.2 pct from the previous year.

The company attributed this positive development to improved performance of its production networks, with premium production of its partner corporate network rising 1.5 pct to 227.2 million euros. Premium production of brokers also rose 6.9 pct to 134.4 million euros and Bancassurance network production totaled 158.4 million euros in 2018.

National Insurance said its pre-tax profits totaled 63.1 million euros in 2018, from 74.2 million 2017 (boosted by non-repeat activities).
