Staff of the national railroad network, including the urban railway Proastiakos, called new strikes and work stoppages for this week.
On Tuesday, October 8, the railroad staff will strike at 5:00-8:00, 13:00-16:00, and 21:00-24:00, affecting intercity or Proastiakos trains scheduled to depart or arrive during these times. On Wednesday, the staff will strike for 24 hours.
The section of the metro line 3 (the blue line) running between Doukissis Plakentias and the Airport will also be affected during the above strike action, as it is part of the Proastiakos.
Explaining their decision, the staff criticized the government for delaying the Railways Organization of Greece (OSE) collective labor agreement. “The agreement is stuck at the General Accounting Office, in order to get the government’s approval on issues already agreed upon,” they said.
