PPC can complete sale of lignite units before May elections, sources say

The Public Power Corporation (PPC) is in a position to complete the sale of its lignite units before the European elections in May, sources within PPC told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Monday.

The statement regarding the new time schedule comes after the cancellation οf a tender to sell the PPC’s Megalopoli and Melitis lignite units the previous Monday, on the grounds that the bids submitted were not satisfactory. Only two offers were submitted in the process, one of which one was conditional on exemptions from PPC terms while the second (for the Melitis unit) was too low.
