Staff at AHEPA hospital charge lack of security endangers their lives on a daily basis

The union of AHEPA hospital staffers in Thessaloniki charged that drug traffickers and users and homeless people had moved into the hospital premises due to the lack of guards.

As Union president Charalambos Koroxenos told Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the phenomenon had taken place over the last few years and violent incidents were a daily occurrence. Informing the local prosecutor he said had no result.

“A condition of lawlessness prevails in AHEPA due to the large number of trespassers,” Koroxenos said, claiming also that “workers and citizens are being attacked every day, while stealing and car break-ins as well as damage to the hospitals equipment is constant.”
