The aftermath of clashes at Economic University of Athens

Two police officers who were injured during clashes at the forecourt of the Economic University of Athens on Monday afternoon were hospitalized, was reported Monday evening.

The clashed erupted between a group of some 100 individuals who had entered the university premises shortly after midday and riot police who intervened to push them back, using tear gas and flash-bang grenades to repel attacks against them with stones and other objects.
Three individuals were detained by police.

The university has decided to stay closed until November 17, the anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic uprising that is celebrated in Greece every year.

In a search of areas within the Economic University on Sunday, police found paraphernalia used by rioters, such as hoods, piece of marbles, stones, clubs and helmets.
